Reimagining a Student Job Platform for a Younger Belgium

Project Background & Brief

Action Job is the reference platform of Infor Jeunes, the Belgian organisation that helps students across French-speaking Belgium navigate student work — contracts, quotas, taxes, and where to find a first job. The information was genuinely useful, but the identity carrying it had fallen behind: a generic logo, inconsistent layouts, and no illustrative world of its own. For an audience of 15–25 year-olds who scroll fast and judge instantly, the platform read as flat and easy to ignore.

The task was a full identity redesign — logo, colour, typography, an illustration system, and responsive mockups for the homepage and an interior page — under real institutional constraints. "Action Job" needed to stay legible and central, "Infor Jeunes" had to coexist visually, and the result had to remain credible within a publicly funded context.

The Concept

The direction collides two visual worlds: the newspaper — the classified pages people once scoured for job listings — and a loud, contemporary energy of acid colour, cut-and-paste collage, and dynamic type. A newspaper reads as serious and credible, exactly what a platform delivering regulatory information about work and wages needs. Layering youthful, high-contrast elements on top turns that credibility into something a young audience will actually stop for.

Brand Identity

The primary palette starts from #F2F2F2, the warm grey of aged newsprint, with black body text and orange (#FF7D00) reserved for highlighting key words, like a highlighter on a printed page. A secondary palette of acid tones (blue, yellow, hot pink, lime, violet) punctuates the black-and-white collages through outlines and section backgrounds.

Typography splits the same way: Unbounded, geometric and dense, carries headlines for a reader who scans; Courier Prime, a typewriter-style monospace, carries body copy and reinforces the newspaper reference at the level of the text itself.

Outcome

Every decision answers a problem from the original audit: a forgettable logo replaced by a mark with real conceptual purpose, weak hierarchy resolved through the type pairing and orange-highlight system, a generic feel replaced by a fully custom illustrative language. The result speaks two languages at once — institutional credibility and contemporary, youth-facing energy.
